Peter studied medicine at the University of Queensland, graduating in 1998. He then worked as a junior doctor in Cairns and Bundaberg before moving to the United Kingdom in 2001 to commence training in intensive care and anaesthesia. Returning to Australia in 2004, Peter completed his anaestheic training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. By this stage he had developed a keen interest in the care of children. In 2007 and 2008, Peter worked as a fellow in both Brisbane and Melbourne, gaining experience in neonatal and paediatric anaesthesia and intensive care. Peadiatric anaesthesia continues to dominate Peter’s practice. He works as a Visiting Medical Officer at Brisbane’s Royal Children’s Hospital, where he also participates in the paediatric liver transplant service. He is closely involved in the eductation of trainee anaesthetists, both with hands-on teaching and lectures.

Peter also looks after adults. He regularly provides anaesthesia for orthopaedic and maxillofacial surgery, amongst other specialties.
