After completing his Orthopaedic training in Newcastle, Dr Scougall then completed a Trauma Surgery Fellowship in Innsbruck, Austria, followed by Hand and Microsurgery Fellowships in Sydney (Sydney/St Luke’s Hospital Hand Units) and Melbourne (St Vincent’s Hospital). With 16 years of experience in Hand Surgery practice, Dr Scougall treats most regular elective and traumatic hand surgery conditions (including carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s contracture, de Quervain’s tenosynovitis, ganglions, tumours, arthritis, fractures, dislocations, tendon and nerve injuries). His special interests include sports injuries and wrist conditions (including scaphoid fractures, wrist ligament injuries and arthritis). Dr Scougall is an active member of the Sydney Hospital Hand Unit and also operates at St Luke’s Hospital, Potts Point and Wollongong Day Surgery. Dr Scougall has continued his involvement in research (Surgical and Orthopaedic Research Laboratory, Prince of Wales Hospital) and Orthopaedic, Hand and Microsurgery teaching. He continues his involvement in an ongoing Mosman Rotary sponsored Hand Surgery teaching program in Vietnam.
