Dr Schattner graduated from Melbourne University in 1974 and then obtained his Master of Medicine at Monash University in 1986 and a doctorate in 2001. His medical interests include the broad range of general practice, medical teaching and research (part-time associate professor in the Monash University Department of General Practice.) Dr Schattner is married with 3 adult children and enjoys time with his family, classical music and opera, reading history and walking.
