Dr Reid was educated at St Joseph’s Nudgee College and subsequently at the University of Queensland where he graduated with a BSc in 1998 and his MBBS in 2002. peter_reid Dr Reid completed his residency at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital, Chermside. He presented for selection to the Queensland Anaesthetic Rotational Training Scheme in 2005 and was awarded fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2010.

Dr Reid commenced his private practice with Axxon Health in 2010. In 2011, Dr Reid was appointed a consultant anaesthetist at the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. He maintained his part-time public appointment until February 2014 at which time he transitioned his clinical practice exclusively into the private arena.

Dr Reid undertakes a wide variety of clinical anaesthesia cases in hospitals throughout southeast Queensland. His current special interests include: Ophthalmic anaesthesia Anaesthesia for surgery of the upper limb Regional anaesthetic techniques Monitoring and risk mitigation strategies for shoulder patients in the sitting position

Dr Reid’s public appointment and his private practice permit him to teach students and junior doctors. He pursues theoretical and practical pathways to further his knowledge and clinical interests in complex obstetric anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia of the upper limb and management of complex and difficult airways.
