Dr Peter Kilby (Orthopaedic Surgeon)

A graduate of the University of New South Wales, Dr Kilby completed his Orthopaedic training in the Sydney North Side Training Scheme before returning to his foundations in rural NSW to commence practice in Bathurst.

Dr Kilby specialises in:

  • Upper and lower limb trauma
  • Hip and knee replacement
  • Knee arthroscopic surgery and reconstruction
  • Foot and ankle conditions

Dr Kilby is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. His training included several rotations at major trauma centers including Royal Prince Alfred, Nepean Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital; a specialised Paediatric Term at the Shriners Hospital for Children (Oregon, USA) and a number of elective rural rotations to Dubbo, Orange and Lismore. In addition, he completed a Fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty and ACL Reconstruction under the guidance of Dr Adrian van der Rijt MMBS (honours), RCSE, RACS.

Dr Kilby was raised on a sheep, cattle and wheat property north east of Coonamble and schooled in the Bathurst Orange region. With strong personal and family ties to the rural community, he is passionate about and dedicated to rural health as a whole. He is especially committed to the pursuit of optimum joint function and excellent patient outcomes. His vision is to provide quality and personable care of the highest clinical standard to all patients.

Dr Kilby performs his surgeries at Bathurst Base Hospital and Bathurst Private Hospital.
