Having gained formal medical and dermatology qualifications from Monash University in Melbourne, Practice Leader Dr Peter Cowen completed post-graduate training in Oxford and Durham in the United Kingdom.
A former Councillor of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and Chairman of its Victorian chapter, Dr Cowen has authored more than 30 articles in medical journals and has led twenty clinical trials, including on the subjects below:
Psoriasis Male pattern hair loss Fungal skin infections Acne Non-surgical treatment of skin cancer On returning to Australia, Dr Cowen served as a consultant dermatologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Queen Victoria Medical Centre and Monash Medical Centre.
Dr Cowen is a former Head of Dermatology at Monash Medical Centre and maintains a practice at the hospital, as well as Brighton Dermatology’s Male Street, Brighton surgery.
