Dr Peter Barry is a father of two with over 10 years experience in medicine. He and his wife Megan (who is also a GP!) met during their internship at Gold Coast Hospital. Raised in South Brisbane, Peter moved to the Gold Coast after completing both a Bachelor of Biomedical Science Degree and a Graduate Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Queensland. A highly sought after GP during his time in Robina, Peter is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He is a passionate family doctor and has special interests in sports (elite athletes) and musculoskeletal medicine (joint and muscular injuries), aged care (multiple medical issues), chronic diseases (such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, heart disease), pain management (non-opioid based), mental health (depression and anxiety) and health care for our defence force men and women. Being around his wife and children is the most important part of his life. His other loves are his black Labrador, Billy and rescue cat, Sookie. In his spare time he will be found walking Billy or lifting weights in his home gym.
