Dr Penelope Alexander is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Dr Alexander has worked in a number of dermatology Departments in Sydney, including St Vincent’s Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, the Skin and Cancer Foundation Darlinghurst, Liverpool Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital and the Sydney Children’s Hospital. Dr Alexander has also practiced Dermatology at a number of rural and regional locations including Bourke, Brewarrina, Orange, Coffs Harbour, Wyong, Kiama, Nowra and Wollongong. Dr Alexander graduated from the University of New South Wales after completing a Bachelor of Science (Medicine), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in 2006.
Following completion of her Internship and residency, Dr Alexander also completed 2 years of specialty training with the Royal Australian College of Anaesthetists, prior to undertaking her Dermatology specialist training. She enjoys teaching, and has been involved in medical education through the regular teaching of junior doctors and medical students. In 2012 she was awarded Best Registrar Teacher at St Vincent’s Hospital by the University of New South Wales.
Dr Alexander is highly skilled in medical, surgical, laser and cosmetic dermatology with special interests in skin cancer detection, prevention and management, as well as acne, paediatric dermatology and photorejuvenation.
