Dr Penelope Alexander is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. She trained at UNSW and completed a Bachelor of Science (Medicine), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2006. Following completion of her Internship and residency, Dr Alexander completed 2 years of specialty training with the Royal Australian College of Anaesthetists, prior to undertaking her Dermatology specialist training.
Dr Alexander has a wide range of experience after practicing dermatology at many major teaching hospitals and a number of rural and regional locations. Dr Alexander is a published author in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at the Australasian College of Dermatology annual scientific meetings. In 2012 she received the award for the best Registrar presentation. She enjoys teaching, and has been involved in medical education through the regular teaching of junior doctors and medical students. In 2012 she was awarded Best Registrar Tutor at St Vincent’s Hospital.
Dr Alexander is highly skilled in both medical and surgical dermatology with special interests in skin cancer detection, prevention and management, as well as acne, paediatric dermatology and photorejuvination.
