He was the Founding President of the Australasian College of Phlebology and currently Assistant Editor of the international journal, “Phlebology”. He has written many peer reviewed articles in medical journals in the fields of cosmetic medicine and phlebology and has contributed to major textbooks on venous diseases.

Dr Thibault is known for his pioneering work in the non-surgical treatment of varicose and spider veins and was the first Australian doctor to use the technique of ultrasound guided sclerotherapy to treat major varicose veins.

Over the past 30 years he has built up a comprehensive vein and cosmetic medical practice involving treatment of varicose veins and cosmetic facial treatment using minimally invasive nonsurgical procedures. In his venous practice he has developed a research interest in chronic venous obstruction in the neck veins and its association with chronic diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS), chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and rosacea. This research and clinical interest includes diagnosis and management of chronic persistent Chlamydophila pneumoniae infection.
