Dr Smith completed his Medical studies at Melbourne University in 2009 and fellowed with the Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2014 after completing an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science/Research (majoring in Genetics and Cellular Biology/Biochemistry) at Deakin University. His internship was done at the Ballarat Base Hospital. Initially from the South Eastern suburbs of Victoria, Paul moved to Ballarat in 2007 for medical training and never left.
He is a busy father to two young girls and husband. Dr Smith spends is free time training in Taekwondo, Karate, Brazilian Jujitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. Also an avid gardener and home renovator.
His passions include preventative health/screening, fitness, chronic disease management, biotechnology and mental health.
