Where do I work?............ I work in Heidelberg and Kew
How long have I worked in Mental Health?............ 18 Years
Mental Health Experience............ I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist for 16 years, 12 of which have been in private practice. I have also worked as a psychologist with Centrelink, assisting people with long-term unemployment, psychological issues and disability. Prior to this, I worked as a Disability Support Officer, assisting people with various disabilities and illnesses to return to work.
Who do I treat?............ I work with both children and adults, from aged 2 years to in the 90s.
Areas of expertise........... I treat mood disorders such as anxiety and depression and assist people who are dealing with life stresses or adjusting to major changes in their life, such as acquired disability, separation and work stresses. I work with people who have experienced trauma and loss or who are experiencing major transitions in their life. Particular interests of mine are Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Aspergers Syndrome and I work with both children and parents to manage the particular challenges associated with these issues.
My therapy style............ I work from a respectful, supportive and collaborative approach. My main belief is that each individual is an expert in their own lives and I aim to work as a team to figure out what approaches are practical to put into place and have the maximum effect on improving people’s lives. My main therapeutic approaches are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Parent Behaviour Management Training.
