Dr. Om Narayan is a cardiologist and PhD research fellow at Monash Cardiovascular Research Centre, MonashHeart. He graduated from the University of Melbourne with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Biomedical Science with Honours in 2005. After completing physician training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Om undertook his advanced clinical cardiology training at Geelong Hospital and subsequently joined MonashHeart in 2012.

Om has a particular interest in the interactions between aortic pressure, cardiac contraction and coronary blood flow. He is applying several novel techniques to unravel these interactions as part of his PhD. He has delivered multiple presentations at national and international meetings in this area. Om is also the recipient of the prestigious National Health and Medical Research Council Scholarship as well as the inaugural Monash Health Senior Medical Staff Academic Scholarship.
