Dr Nicole Williams is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the management of infants, children and adolescents with orthopaedic conditions. She has a particular interest and advanced training in the treatment of infant hip dysplasia, paediatric fractures, neuromuscular conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system (including cerebral palsy), and the Ponseti treatment of clubfeet
Consulting and operating privately with Orthopaedics SA at Memorial Hospital, Dr Williams has public appointments at Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Modbury Hospital and Port Augusta Hospital. Dr Williams is the Director, Paediatric Trauma Service,Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery Training, South Australia and Northern Territory. Complementing her clinical work, Dr Williams is a Senior Research Associate with the University of Adelaide, where she is involved in several projects aimed at improving understanding and treatment of orthopaedic conditions in children. She regularly conducts educational sessions for GPs, doctors-in-training and allied health practitioners..
After graduating from Newcastle University in 2003, Dr Williams obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011. Following this, she undertook a further 18 months of specialist training in Paediatric Orthopaedics at Shriners Hospital for Children (Portland, Oregon, USA) and at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide. Dr Williams is an active member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, Australian Paediatric Orthopaedic Society and the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies as well as a Medical Advisor to the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.
