I am a General and Laparoscopic surgeon. I provide expert care for all General Surgical pathologies with a special interest in Upper GI and Advanced Laparoscopic Hernia repair.
I was initially trained as a General Surgeon in India, where I was affiliated with a medical college as an Assistant Professor and was involved in teaching and research work. I have Overseas and Australian experience of over 12 years.
I did 2 years of fellowship in Acute and General Surgical unit and 2 years of fellowship in Upper GI in Adelaide. I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) and accredited with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) for adult gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
I am Senior Clinical Lecturer in the University of Adelaide and is a visiting Consultant at Port Augusta and Whyalla Health Services.
I consult and operate privately at Calvary Central District Hospital, Western Hospital and North Eastern Community Hospital.
I believe in ethical and patient centric practice. Dealing with a surgical problem is a team effort with communication with the patients and primary care providers being the key to a successful outcome.
My Scope of Practice includes Elective general Surgery: Lap cholecystectomy, lap open and complex hernia repair (inguinal, femoral, recurrent,ventral, incisional), laparoscopic antireflux surgery and hiatus hernia repair, skin cancers, carpal tunnel syndrome, vasectomy, circumcision, pilonidal sinus, muscle biopsy, temporal artery biopsy, lymph node biopsy, infusaport placement and ingrown toe nails.
Benign colorectal conditions: Perianal sepsis and fistula, fissure and skin tags, haemorrhoids.
Emergency surgery: Appendicitis, perforated bowel, intestinal obstruction, incarcerated and strangulated hernia, acute cholecystitis and surgical infections.
Gastroscopy and colonoscopy: Diagnostic, therapeutic and surveillance.
