Dr Nariman Ahmadi is an Australian trained urologist and robotic surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery for urological conditions.
Dr Ahmadi obtained his medical degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and completed a Masters of Surgery at the University of Sydney. Following completion of six years of urological surgical training, he undertook a two-year fellowship in Advanced Robotic and Laparoscopic Urological Oncology at University of Southern California, USA.
Dr Ahmadi is one of the few Australian urologists with a fellowship degree in Advanced Robotic Urological Oncology. During his overseas fellowship, Dr Ahmadi gained expertise in complex minimally invasive urological procedures in cancer and reconstructive urological surgeries.
He has a specific interest in prostate cancer surgery, kidney and nephron preserving surgery, bladder cancer surgery with intracorporeal urinary diversions such as neobladder as well as retroperitoneal node dissection for testicular cancers.
Dr Ahmadi is a da Vinci accredited surgical proctor and provides mentoring for Australian surgeons in robotic surgery. Dr Ahmadi has presented extensively in national and international conferences. He has also published extensively in peer reviewed urological journals as well as authored three book chapters in robotic surgery. He is actively involved in collaborative international research projects in urological cancers and robotic surgery.
