Dr Nandor Jaross is a retinal surgeon. He has an interest in management of diabetic retinopathy as well as many other retinal conditions. Dr Jaross works from Vision Eye Institute Footscray.

Background Dr Jaross studied ophthalmology and later practiced at the University Department of Ophthalmology in Debrecen, Hungary from 1983-88.

Immigrating to Australia in 1988, he worked as an ophthalmologist at the Royal Darwin Hospital and was Head of the Mobile Eye unit. During this time, he was recipient of the Ken Moo Memorial Award (awarded to him in 1992 by the NT Government), WHO travelling fellowship, Rotary Vocational Excellence Award, the Commanding Officer’s Medal and the Kerry Kirke student award (best PhD student) of the Public Health Association (SA Branch) in 2003.

Completing his studies at the Adelaide University and was awarded a PhD in Medicine in 2003.
