Dr Raj graduated MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) at University of Jaffna (Sri Lanka) in 2003 and also completed Masters in Community Medicine at University of Colombo (Sri Lanka) in 2008. After 7 years and 7 months of working in Sri Lanka Raj moved to Australia in 2011, since then he worked in different rural cities of New South Wales over 5 years (Broken Hill, Dareton and Buronga) as GP and gained FRACGP in 2014.He also completed Diploma in Child Health in 2013 with University of Sydney and he has just completed Masters in Family Medicine at Monash (2016). Dr Raj decided to become a GP in his early stage of medical carrier and he finds his work very exciting, challenging and rewarding. He has a strong passion for over all patient care, chronic disease management, prevention in General Practice, aboriginal health and dermatology (skin disease). He has postgraduate certificate in skin cancer medicine (University of Queensland) and intended to develop further skills in skin cancer medicine. Other special interests include diabetic care and cardiovascular medicine. He also loves teaching medical students and next generation GPs and he is currently supervising a GP registrar remotely for RVTS. He recently moved from country to city with his wife, Rohini and two sons in Sydney, New South Wales. His social passion includes reading, contributing thorough his epidemiology and statistics knowledge to publish research papers in different peer reviewed international Journals, participating spiritual activities, home gardening and spending time with family and friends.
