Consultant Gastroenterologist
Dr Ayaz Chowdhury completed his Gastroenterology training at Westmead Hospital in 1998, which included 4 years of Clinical Gastroenterology Training and 1 year of Clinical and Basic Science Research.
He joined Auburn Public Hospital as Visiting Gastroenterologist in 1999.
He is also a Visiting Gastroenterologist at Healthwoods Day Hospital Granville, Westmead private Hospital and City west Day Hospital Westmead.
He has been a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians since 1995 and a Member of the Gastroenterology Society of Australia since 1996.
During his Gastroenterogy training he was actively involved in clinical research and was on two separate occasions awarded travel grants by Westmead research Foundation and Gastroenterological Society of Australia to present his research at the major yearly American Gastroenterolical Convention in New Orleans in 1998 and Orlando in 1999.
Dr Chowdhury has extensive experience in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and has special interest in both Luminal Gastroenterology and in the mangement of Inflammatory Bowel disease.
He has been in Private Practice in Westmead and Auburn for the last 14 years.
