Dr Mohan Jayasundera graduated in medicine from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1992. After several years at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, he returned to New Zealand to complete his surgical training, being awarded the FRACS in 2001.
Subsequently, Dr Jayasundera undertook post Fellowship training at The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS, UK and Royal Perth Hospital, Western Australia. This was gaining further experience in upper GI, and colorectal surgery.
