Mitchell Chipman is a physician who specialises in medical oncology and palliative care. He is a general oncologist but has a particular interest in breast cancer, lymphoma and cancers complicating chronic HIV infection. Clinical trials are a mainstay of cancer medicine and he is a keen participant in clinical research at VBOC. Multidisciplinary care is central to his practice so enabling the best possible outcomes for all patients. His public work is mainly at The Alfred Hospital situated close-by in Prahran. Outside direct patient care he sits on a number of boards and committees including the Victorian Doctors Health Programme. He has previously been on medical regulation boards and participates actively with AHPRA in Victoria. He is a lecturer in medicine at Monash University where he did his basic training.
