Dr Beeny is an anaesthetist and consultant physician specializing in intensive care with a particular interest in perioperative medicine and resuscitation. He is an advanced life support course director for the Australian Resuscitation Council, has instructed in airway management at ANZCA workshops, and has published on airway management in intensive care.
Dr Beeny completed his College of Physicians and College of Intensive Care Medicine fellowships at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and his Anaesthetic Fellowship at the Alfred
Hospital. He has worked as a consultant at the Alfred Hospital and Eastern Health, before moving predominantly into private practice.
As well as his anaesthetic practice, Dr Beeny is perioperative physician, providing support and advice to assist in the management of patients being cared for by his surgical and anaesthetic colleagues. He offers a consultative service for inpatients at Cabrini Hospital, Malvern, and is in the process of arranging a similar practice for Epworth Richmond.
