I studied at UNSW and graduated in 1984
My first ever job was at Woolworths
I moved part way through my internship from Hornsby Hospital to Newcastle and had my first child midway through the next year. I never went back to the hospital system and worked in General Practice ever since – that was 30 years ago!
I have four grown kids – three of whom are lawyers like their father – none have followed me into medicine!
I enjoy shared antenatal care and treating families. I cannot imagine not having toys and a container of Smarties in my room for the kids.
My patients are a loyal bunch – I have treated some for over twenty years – they have moved with me from Mayfield to Broadmeadow and now to Glendale where I hope to stay for a very long time! Moving is hard work.
I treat multiple generations of some families. I have had the privilege of treating refugees from Sudan,, Burundi, Mauritania, Liberia Afganistan and Iran.
I have made a couple of trips to Uganda and worked in Watoto children’s village clinic. I hope to do more of this sort of work in the future.
I enjoy music, singing, crafts, cooking, Words with Friends (scrabble) and my local church.
