Dr Michele McGrady graduated from the University of Sydney and completed her general cardiology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 2006. Her PhD at Monash University looked at the Epidemiology of Heart Failure in High Risk Populations and was supported by NHMRC and National Heart Foundation Scholarships.

She currently practices as a general cardiologist with interests in heart failure, rheumatic heart disease and echocardiography. Dr McGrady also works as a remote area physician and cardiologist visiting Indigenous communities in the Tanami Desert and Barkley regions of Central Australia four times a year.

She continues her research interests into screening and early diagnosis of heart failure particularly secondary to chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity and hypertension.

Dr McGrady has a longstanding commitment to education and teaching, she is an instructor for DETECT course which is part of the Clinical Excellence Commission's strategy for identifying and managing deteriorating patients. Dr McGrady also is closely involved in training and supervising trainee cardiac sonographers in the practice undertaking graduate training.
