Dr Michael Li is a University of Sydney graduate. He has previously worked and trained at Royal North Shore and Westmead Hospital.
He undertook skin cancer research in 1991 at University of Sydney for the degree of Master of Medicine in the protective effects of retinoids in skin cancers. He had further training as a clinical fellow at the Royal infirmary in Edinburgh in 1992 and also worked in Dunfermline hospital clinic, Scotland. In 1993, he gained further experience and training through the work at Sydney Sexual Health Centre in Sydney Hospital in sexual health and genital skin diseases. He undertook postgraduate dermatology training at Westmead Hospital, Westmead Skin and Cancer Foundation and Royal North Shore hospital. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Australian College of Dermatologists in 1997.
He has worked as visiting consultant dermatologist at Westmead Hospital both with outpatient clinics and inpatient care and was involved in the teaching of dermatology trainees and medical students for 5 years .
He is a general dermatologist but has broad interests including medical and surgical treatment of skin cancers, paediatric dermatology, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and management of acne and rosacea. Apart from English, he converses well in both Cantonese and Mandarin.
