Mr Michael Hii is an oesophago-gastric surgeon who specialises in diseases of the oesophagus, stomach and adrenal glands. Mr Hii completed training in general surgery in Melbourne and then went on to complete an additional three years of specialist training in hospitals in Victoria and Brisbane. He currently works as a specialist consultant at St Vincent’s Public Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital and holds an honorary position at Box Hill Public Hospital. He is a co director of a busy private practice seeing patients in East Melbourne, Box Hill, Bendigo and Werribee.
Mr Hii has particular skills in treating oesophageal cancer and stomach cancer, reflux disease, hiatal hernia and diseases of the adrenal glands. He is able to perform all of these surgeries using keyhole techniques, and many patients have benefited from this minimally invasive surgery compared to the more routine open surgery.
