Dr Michael Flynn graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School and commenced his internship at the Gold Coast Hospital. He then undertook specialist Obstetric and Gynaecology training both in Queensland and the United Kingdom.
Dr Flynn commenced private practice on the Gold Coast in 1998. His areas of expertise are Obstetrics (Pregnancy), Laparoscopic Surgery (Gynaecology and Women’s Health) and Fertility Management (IVF).
Dr Flynn believes Obstetrics is the most stressful and most rewarding of jobs and he takes great pleasure in assisting couples conceive, caring for them during pregnancy and then delivering their baby.
In becoming a leading Fertility Management Specialist, Dr Flynn spent time at the ‘birthplace’ of IVF, Bourne Hall in Cambridge UK.
He is excited about the rapid rate of advances in the field of Assisted Reproductive Technology. Helping couples achieve their dream of having a child is very satisfying.
Dr Flynn is a founding partner of Fertility Gold Coast (now part of Queensland Fertility Group).
As a specialist in Laparoscopic Surgery, he was awarded the Australian Gynaecology Endoscopy Society Travelling Fellowship in Laparoscopic Surgery in 2000. He believes this technique has transformed the management of women's health.
Outside of his work in private practice, Dr Flynn travels to Papua New Guinea each year delivering babies and performing surgery at the Mt Hagan Hospital on a volunteer basis.
Dr Flynn is an Assistant Professor at Bond University.
