Dr Mervyn Kyi obtained his medical degree at the University of Melbourne with first class honours and completed his endocrinology specialist training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Austin and Northern Hospital. He is a physician and endocrinologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Melbourne Private Hospital. Mervyn is currently undertaking PhD studies at the University of Melbourne in the area of diabetes care in hospitalised individuals, and is the recipient of the prestigious NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship. He is also involved in teaching medical students and physician trainees, and contributes to the trainee education program organised by the Australian Diabetes Society. Consulting in all areas of diabetes and endocrinology, Mervyn has special interests in type 1 diabetes, pituitary, adrenal and thyroid disorders, and osteoporosis. He is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Australian Diabetes Society, Endocrine Society of Australia and the American Diabetes Association.
