Melanie was fortunate enough to be accepted into the first intake in a graduate medical program in Australia studying medicine at Flinders University in Adelaide. She was also able to take part in the first years of the Northern Territory Clinical School, a program which allowed medical students to complete the final two years of their training based in Darwin, Alice Springs and surrounding communities.

After wonderful adventures in the North and graduation from medicine in 1999 Melanie continued her travels around Australia completing her internship in Royal Hobart Hospital then working in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth.

On return to Melbourne Melanie has worked in Emergency Medicine for the last decade in Werribee Mercy Hospital, Monash Paediatric Emergency and Latrobe Regional Hospital amongst others before embarking on her career as a GP.

Melanie is married to Tim and they have two young children who keep them busy. Her former hobbies of overseas travel and trapeze have transformed into child friendly activities such as beach holidays and introducing her children to the joys of skiing.

Melanie loves the variety of general practice and she has particular interest in women’s and children’s health.
