Dr Michelle Lai is a consultant physician, clinical epidemiologist and researcher. Her clinical expertise is in geriatric medicine and perioperative care, including people undergoing surgery with multiple medical conditions. She has developed clinical guidelines and represented at hospital committees. Her research interests are ageing health and medical education.
She is currently the Deputy Director of Medical Education, Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group. Following appointment as former Head of Fracture Neck of Femur(hip) Unit at Royal Perth Hospital, Dr Lai was appointed as Medical Education Fellow at Monash University in Melbourne and continued as Adjunct Lecturer for education research after she returned to Perth.
Dr Lai is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), Associate Fellow of the Australasian College of Medical Administration (RACMA) and a member of the Australia and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM).
