Matthew graduated from the University of Adelaide (MBBS) in 2003. He completed internship and a year of residency at the Royal Adelaide Hospital before undertaking 5 years of service in the Australian Regular Army. During this time, he completed Fellowship of the College of General Practitioners. Following discharge from the Regular Army, Matthew has worked in civilian General Practice whilst maintaining an association with the military as a member of the specialist reserve. He has special interest and skills in sports medicine, mental health, preventative health, minor surgical procedures, paediatrics, sexual health, aviation medicine, and underwater medicine.
