Dr Ligtermoet completed his undergraduate training at the University of Melbourne in 2007. He subsequently undertook specialist training in Neurology at the Alfred hospital and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne. This was followed by a clinical fellowship in Movement Disorders and Neuroimmunology at Alfred Health, gaining fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2016. His sub-specialty interests include the diagnosis and management of movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, tremor and dystonia. Matt is trained in the use of botulinum toxin for conditions such as cervical dystonia, bleapharospam and hemifacial spasm. He also has an interest in Neuroimmunology including the diagnosis and management of multiple sclerosis (MS) and related conditions. He is a consultant Neurologist at Northern Health where he runs the Multiple Sclerosis clinic.
