A Specialist Anaesthetist appointment at the Mater Adults and Mothers’ Hospitals began in 2006 with particular interests in high-risk obstetrics, cancer surgery and acute pain management, as well as performing numerous roles for ANZCA registrar training.

2009 was a watershed year, spent with his family in Vanuatu, working as the Anaesthetist at Vila Central Hospital for 12 months under the auspices of AusAID. Short volunteer trips to assist have continued annually.

More recently, Matt has attained a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Ultrasound from the University of Melbourne and is completing a Masters in Perioperative Medicine via Monash University.
