Dr Mathew Rodrigues is a Respiratory and Sleep Disorders Physician. As well as seeing patients with all types of respiratory and sleep conditions, Dr Rodrigues has a special clinical interest in obstructive airway diseases (Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), Lung Cancer, Interstitial Lung Diseases, Pulmonary Infections, Sleep Disordered Breathing and Chronic Cardiopulmonary Disorders.Between 1987 and 2002 Dr Rodrigues obtained both his MBBS and MD, completing his training at Apex tertiary multispecialty hospitals in India and Singapore. Dr Rodrigues completed further specialist physician training and senior registrarship at Peninsula Health, Victoria with Monash University between 2003 and 2006. In 2007 Dr Rodrigues also successfully obtained a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and completed a Clinical Fellowship with the Royal Melbourne Hospital.Dr Rodrigues is a life-time member of both the Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand and the Australasian Sleep Association. He is also a member of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP). As well as consulting with lung & Sleep Victoria, formally known as, Western Respiratory and Sleep Clinic, Dr Rodrigues is a Consultant Physician in Respiratory, Sleep & General Medicine with Western Health. Dr Rodrigues can also arrange for patients to have hospital-based sleep studies at the Brunswick Private Hospital. He is also a Clinical Tutor Melbourne University’s Western Clinical School.
Dr Rodrigues is able to converse in English, Hindi and Maharashtrian. He also understands Urdu and Punjabi.
