As well as being a General Practioner all-rounder, Marney’s special areas of interest are women’s health and minor surgery. After Marney did her medical training in Newcastle NSW, she worked in the Royal Newcastle Hospital before the 1989 earthquake, and the John Hunter Hospital after that. She has also worked at Wallsend and Belmont Hospitals. After her residency, she went to Charleville in Queensland for one year to work in the country, before relocating to Shoal Bay and finally to Cardiff where she has been since 1994. She has completed postgraduate courses in Family Planning and Musculoskeletal Medicine. Marney is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
