Dr. Mark Marriott attended Monash University and graduated with first class honours in 1994. He undertook further training and became a specialist in neurology in 2002. He has worked at the Austin, Box Hill and Royal Melbourne Hospitals as well as several hospitals in the United Kingdom during his training. He has performed research into Multiple Sclerosis at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research and the Howard Florey Institute, leading to the completion of a thesis for the higher degree of doctor of philosophy (PhD) at the University of Melbourne. Since 2002, he has worked as a consultant neurologist at the Royal Melbourne and Box Hill Hospitals.

He is an honorary lecturer in Medicine at Monash University and an honorary fellow at the Howard Florey Institute/Centre for Neuroscience at the University of Melbourne. Dr Marriott’s interests include Multiple Sclerosis and General Neurology. He has ongoing research interests in MS genetics and new therapies for MS and MRI imaging. Results of this research have been published in medical journals and presented at major scientific meetings.

Dr. Marriott joined Melbourne Neurology Group in 2010. He consults patients referable to conditions including general neurology and Motor Neurone Disease and, in particular, Multiple Sclerosis.
