Busy fertility practices can become large and impersonal, but Dr Mark Livingstone and his secretary Chris are committed to providing personalised, individualised care in a compassionate environment. Mark takes the time to explain medical terminology in easy to understand language, which helps to empower patients to make decisions regarding their treatment options.

Experience and Qualifications

Mark completed his medical school training in Scotland before moving to Australia in 1991. He has been treating patients dealing with infertility for more than 15 years, first working in the Westmead Hospital Fertility Unit then moving to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 1998. He was awarded the College Medal for the highest mark in the membership examination before completing sub specialist training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) in 2001 and a Master of Human Reproduction and Human Genetics at Sydney University in 2002.

Mark is the Deputy Medical Director of Genea in their flagship clinic in Sydney CBD. Six times a year, he travels to Tamworth to consult with patients - bringing specialist fertility care to families enabling treatment in a regional setting surrounded by the support of their family and friends

Mark's practice is diverse and he sees patients with a range of problems including recurrent miscarriage, male factor infertility, polycystic ovaries and premature ovarian failure.

He regularly sees patients who have travelled interstate or from overseas and has a particular interest in helping couples who have experienced previous IVF failures or require preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). Genea is a world leader in PGD (learn about GeneSure), a process which screens embryos to prevent genetic disorders being passed on to subsequent generations.

Mark is readily accessible by telephone and personally speaks with all of his patients at the end of a cycle. Indeed, he will often be the first to call his patients with pregnancy test results.
