Dr. Mark Freedman graduated M.B.BCh. from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) in 1977. He has an Anaesthetic Fellowship from the College of Medicine of South Africa (1984) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Ultrasound from the University of Melbourne (2011). He served as a Captain in the South African Defense Force Medical Corps.

He has held positions as Senior Anaesthetic Consultant at Western General Hospital Melbourne, Eastern Health, Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute and Monash Medical Centre. He has also served on the Medical Advisory Committees of Latrobe University Hospital and the John Fawkner Private Hospital.

Current fields of interest:

  • Orthopaedic Surgery with particular emphasis on regional anaesthetic techniques
  • Vascular Surgery, General Surgery, Gynecological Surgery and outpatient anaesthesia
  • Pain management with particular interest in back pain

In addition to 10 medical publications (anaesthetic journals), he also wrote a medical accounting software for Anaesthetists - Sleep Angel Software. His first novel "MAMZER" a fictional work was published in 1996. This is also available as an eBook "Branded". His second book "Open Your Eyes, Genesis and the Origin of Space-Time" a work of non-fiction was published in 2015.
