Dr Manar Al-Azzawi is a fully qualified General Practitioner who joined East Maitland Family Medical Centre in April 2017. While in medical school, Dr Al-Azzawi discovered her passion towards family medicine and decided to pursue that path. She has practiced medicine in 3 countries around the world, the latest being Australia where she obtained her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Her professional interests include a strong emphasis on preventative medicine and all aspects of primary health care, including chronic disease management, women’s health and contraception, mental health, surgical procedures, aged care, skin health and paediatrics. She is also fully qualified to do Mirena insertion and removal. As a mum of 2 beautiful girls and the fact that she has a special interest in children’s health, she went and obtained a Diploma in Child Health at the University of Sydney to add more to her vast experience in paediatrics and primary healthcare.
