Training Dr. Malcolm Tyers graduated medicine from the University of Melbourne in 1977. After finalizing his training in anaesthesia at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Royal Childrens Hospital and Mercy Maternity Hospital, Dr. Tyers undertook further training in England completing his Fellowship in 1985.

Experience Dr. Tyers worked as a full time Anaesthetist for 2 years at St. Vincent’s Public Hospital and then at St. Vincents Private Hospital and Monash Medical Centre and is currently accredited at many private Hospitals in Melbourne. Dr. Tyers is experienced in ICU and has worked at the Monash Simulation Centre. In 1986 Dr. Tyers did full time physiology research on a college research grant as well a working in the Pacific Islands as part of Interplast, a not for profit organization that provides medical treatment for patients who would otherwise not be able to afford access to such services.

Dr. Tyers at present is a busy anaesthetist in a full time practice as well as the Chairman of the St. Vincent’s Hospitals Anaesthetic group. His objective is to optimize patient care and hospital experience.

Outside interests Outside work Mal has a marvellous supportive family and many sporting interests.
