Mahmood is a consultant rheumatologist who is interested in managing inflammatory arthritis including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and crystal induced arthritis. He is also passionate towards managing systemic lupus erythematosus, Sclerodrma, Sjogren syndrome, myositis, polymyalgia rheumatica, Giant cell arteritis and fibromyalgia.
He joined Rheumatology Tasmania at the beginning of 2018 after working as a staff rheumatologist in Victoria for two years. He acquired his fellowship in NZ after 4 years of rheumatology training between Auckland City Hospital, North Shore Hospital, Middlemore Hospital and Waikato Hospital.
Mahmood is happy to be contacted by GPs and other specialists for advice and consultation. He works Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Rheumatology Tasmania and Thursday, Friday as a Consultant Rheumatologist at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
