Dr Kanishka Muru completed his specialist training in Sri Lanka and subsequently obtained a fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in Australia. He has worked as a consultant psychiatrist in Latrobe Regional Hospital, Latrobe Valley for 6 years with the primary mental health care, crisis team and has been in private practice since 2014. Dr Muru has been involved in teaching medical students and trainee registrars at Latrobe Regional Hospital. He is particularly interested in working with General Practitioners on primary care. His areas of interests are are ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, bi-polar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and organic and functional psychotic disorders in late adolescent and adult groups.
