Dr Linda Sheahan is a Palliative Care Physician, and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, and Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine. She works as a Staff Specialist in Palliative Care at St George and Calvary Hospitals in Sydney’s south, with private consulting sessions at St George Private Oncology Associates, Hurstville Private Oncology, and Southside Cancer Care Centre. In her clinical role she is a conjoint lecturer with the University of New South Wales School of Medicine. Dr Sheahan also has expertise in Clinical Ethics, and is an Honorary Associate with the Centre for Values, Ethics and the Law in Medicine at the University of Sydney, and the Clinical Ethics Consultant for South East Area Health Service. As a palliative care physician, her clinical focus is on maximising the quality of life in patients with life limiting illness. This involves the specialised management of complex symptoms, in depth planning around the goals of care in the context of non-curative disease, and healthcare decision making as informed by the person experiencing illness.
