Dr Eric Khoo is a consultant Radiation Oncologist at Radiation Oncology Centres (ROC), Toowoomba.
Dr Khoo attended the University of Otago in New Zealand where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1999. After many years of training, in 2007 Dr Khoo earned fellowship to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR).
Throughout his career, Dr Khoo has assumed the role of local principal investigator for multiple randomised trials under the umbrella of ORA (Oncology Research Australia) and has had multiple peer reviewed articles published as both co-author and main author. Dr Khoo has also held the position of ethics committee member for the Darling Downs Region.
Since 2012, Dr Khoo has been the head of the Toowoomba Radiation Oncology Department, and recently has been director of training for two accredited trainee registrars. Dr Khoo also supervises and coordinates 15 third year medical students each year from Griffith University for one week during their rural term.
In 2009 Dr Khoo implemented Intensity Modulating Radiotherapy (IMRT) for head and neck cancer at the Toowoomba centre. In 2016, he will aid the implementation of a stereotactic radiotherapy service also. Dr Khoo enjoys the mixture of clinical work, technology advancement and multidisciplinary meetings with his colleagues and allied health providers each week. He has special interest in skin, head and neck, prostate and breast cancers.
