Dr Harris graduated from the University of New South Wales with Honors in 1989. She has been working in general practice since 1991 after doing her internship in Canberra and then enrolling in the Family Medicine Program. She obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 1996. Her main areas of interest within general practice are Women’s health, Mental health, Paediatrics, Sexual health and Travel medicine. She is approved for the Shared Antenatal Car Program at local hospitals.
longside her clinical work, Libby previously combined her medical degree and interest in journalism in her role as the Medical Editor for a weekly publication for GP’s, The Medical 0bserver, between 2007 and 2014. She was also the GP advisor to the NSW Cancer Council in 2011 and held the role of Student Affairs Co-ordinator at UNSW from 2005-2007.
