Dr Lee Mei Yap is an accomplished medical and cosmetic dermatologist who is dedicated to providing her patients with outstanding dermatological care. She consults in all areas of dermatology involving adults and children. Her areas of expertise in private practice include:
skin cancer management common skin conditions such as acne and scarring inflammatory rashes such as eczema and psoriasis excessive sweating, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr Yap is an expert in the field of cosmetic dermatology with almost a decade's experience in the skilled use of: photo of Dr Lee Mai Yap lasers (vascular, pigment reduction, photorejuvenation, resurfacing) anti-wrinkle injections dermal filler injections cosmeceuticals (skin care), and anti-ageing therapies. She is passionate and committed to achieving the best, individual and most natural aesthetic outcome for all of her patients.
Aside from her private practice, Dr Yap has nine years' experience as a consultant dermatologist at the St Vincent's Hospital Multidisciplinary Skin Lymphoma Clinic, Complex Dermatology/Psoriasis/Biologic Therapies Clinic and more recently the Skin Cancer Triage Clinic. She has been a visiting specialist at the Alfred Hospital and the Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) Clinic at the Skin and Cancer Foundation of Victoria.
Dr Yap graduated in Medicine with Honours from the University of Melbourne. She was admitted as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD) in 2005 and trained in a large variety of specialist centres including St Vincent's Hospital, The Alfred, Monash Medical Centre, Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Skin and Cancer Foundation of Victoria. In 2006, she commenced private practice at the Dermatology Institute of Victoria with Assoc Prof Greg Goodman and at Kew Dermatology with Dr Peter Sinclair.
Dr Yap has multiple scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and continues to have an active role in teaching and post graduate dermatology education and training. She is regularly invited to speak at educational meetings and national conferences. Her dermatology college representations include being appointed to the Executive Committee and Faculty Secretary of the Victorian Faculty of Dermatologists. She is an active member of the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists.
