I am an experienced eye surgeon who treats all general eye conditions and have a sub-speciality interest in oculoplastics. I have worked as an eye surgeon since -2003. I am also an appointed Staff Specialist at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick and at the Sydney Eye Hospital, where I am also involved in teaching and training the next generation of ophthalmologists. My areas of focus are cataract surgery, tear duct surgery and eyelid reconstructive surgery (such as ptosis, blepharoplasty, removal of skin cancers, and ectropion and entropion repairs). I pride myself on clear and comprehensive communication with patients to help you understand your diagnosis and create individual treatment plans in order for us both to care for your eyes’ health. My medical degree and training was at the University of New South Wales, where I graduated with first class honours and was the recipient of the Foundation Year Graduates Medal for leadership and fellowship. My speciality training in ophthalmology continued at Prince of Wales Hospital and culminated in my final year as the Professorial Senior Registrar and with the completion of an Oculoplastics Fellowship Year.My career as an Ophthalmologist commenced when, as part of my medical degree, I volunteered through a Fred Hollows initiative at Tilganga Eye Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal where I saw the impact that caring for people’s sight could have on their lives. I continue this proud tradition by providing and delivering eye care to remote communities and developing countries through my role as a Visiting Specialist at Bourke Hospital as part of the Outback Eye Service, and as a volunteer surgeon with the Myanmar (Burma) Eye Care Program, as well as through the completion of a Masters in Public Health.I remain involved with the University and the medical community and have presented and published academic articles at international meetings and journals. I am a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at UNSW Medical School teaching undergraduate medical and optometry students. I am also a designated Aviation Ophthalmologist.
