Hello! I am thrilled to welcome you to Oak Tree Osteopathy! My name is Lauren Purdey and I am an Osteopath and owner of this practice. I have been working as an Osteopath for the past 20 years and I love it! Osteopathy has provided me with a fabulous career. I enjoy all aspects of my job, particularly seeing the change that can be made with hands-on, thoughtful treatment. I get so much satisfaction when I can improve someone’s pain and see this reflected in their day-to-day function and comfort.
I enjoy using soft tissue massage in conjunction with stretching and joint release techniques. I am also trained in dry needling and cupping. I approach every patient as an individual, needing a personalised approach to their treatment. I enjoy treating a variety of people and complaints and get huge satisfaction from relieving pregnancy-related pain and providing perinatal Osteopathic care for women.
Equally, the prevention and management of sports and fitness-related injuries is also a great part of my job. To keep my patients moving and training, I use Osteopathic hands-on treatment in conjunction with Rock taping and exercise prescription using PhysiApp, which can help me tailor your exercises and monitor your progress. I have undertaken additional study in treating children and babies using very gentle techniques and happily work with this age group. Often these lighter techniques work well through all the ages, particularly older adults suffering from osteoporosis or osteoarthritis.
Most importantly to me is the genuine connections that I make every day. Osteopathy is a one-on-one, hands-on approach to treatment. I care for each patient that I see and want to help you achieve your goals. An important part of that is getting to know you. My time away from work is spent enjoying time with my family and friends, running, going to the football and trying lots of amazing restaurants.
