Lauren completed her psychology degrees and training in the United States and has been working clinically in Australia since 2009. Over her career, she has specialised in working with children, adolescents, and families with a range of mental health and general life issues, including developmental, emotional, behavioural, attachment-based difficulties, and coping with life transitions. Specific conditions treated, but this list is not exhaustive, include anxiety (generalised anxiety, OCD, panic, PTSD, selective mutism, separation anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobias), ADHD, behaviour problems, family issues, mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), and parenting.
Lauren provides clinical assessment and treatment using a range of evidence-based therapies and builds on the strengths of individuals and families to achieve positive change in their lives. Lauren is trained in a variety of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Structural Family Theory, and Family Systems. She also uses expressive modalities with children and believes there is an “art” to therapy endeavouring to ensure the treatment approach is a good fit for and salient to the client.
Lauren also conducts psychometric and educational assessments to assess children and adolescents with queries related to Specific Learning Disorders, attention/concentration/executive function difficulties, and giftedness.
Lauren is endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist, is registered with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (Reg. #: PSY0001346820), is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and is registered as a Medicare Provider.
