Lauren grew up in the small town of Mulwala (Yarrawonga)to a teacher mother and factory worker father. After completing high school and a year working in Mulwala she was required to move to Melbourne in 2009 to study a Bachelor of Medical Science. It was there where she found her passion for health and medicine. She continued her education with a Doctor of Medicine at The University of Melbourne, graduating in 2015.
With a passion for rural and regional health care Lauren completed her internship in Bendigo and Echuca with an aim of devoting her career to the country. For a change of scenery she moved to the south east coast spending time in Cardiology and Paediatrics when not at the beach. Knowing her main aim was to be a rural General Practitioner she joined Mount Beauty Medical Clinic in 2018 to learn from some fantastic rural GPs.
Her interests include preventative health care, paediatrics and sports medicine, and she currently volunteers with the Bushrangers Victorian Woman’s AFL team as medical support.
Lauren appreciates the lifestyle provided by living in a small community. She enjoys snow skiing, cycling and hiking. However will probably be seen drinking coffee in the main street with her partner Lincoln and Newfoundland dog Orkii. Both Lauren and Lincoln plan to do a lot of skiing this year and volunteering with the Disabled Winter-sports Australia (DWA) team.
