Kuang is an energetic, dynamic member of our team and is passionate about children’s health. After completing his medical degree at The University of Auckland in 2004, he undertook postgraduate training in paediatrics in New Zealand before moving to Melbourne for specialist training in Paediatric Allergy and Immunology. He has since gained broad experience in a diverse range of settings including hospital based clinical allergy/immunology and diagnostic immunology laboratory training at The Royal Children’s Hospital, allergy/immunology research at Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and private clinics at Epworth Allergy Specialists. He is a PhD scholar of The University of Melbourne where he is investigating the mechanisms of immunotherapy and evaluating the long-term efficacy of a peanut oral immunotherapy (Probiotic and Peanut Oral Immunotherapy – PPOIT) for treatment of peanut allergy in children. Kuang is dedicated to the training of the next generation of doctors. He has been teaching and examining students at The University of Melbourne for over four years and is an invited lecturer of the Department of Paediatrics. Kuang is a member of Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA), the peak professional body of Clinical Immunologists and Allergists in Australia and New Zealand. His clinical interests include immunotherapy, food allergy, eczema, allergic airway diseases, anaphylaxis, and primary immunodeficiency. Kuang loves spending time with his family. He enjoys listening to classical music, playing badminton and, of course, watching the All Blacks play.
